Waldheim Jewish Cemetery is a large complex of dedicated burial groups, founded around 1870 and formerly owned and operated by a very large number of burial socieities, synagogues, and family groups. Currently, all sexton duties, supervision of the cemetery sections are being conducted by Waldheim Cemetery itself (marked "W" in the index on the Museum of Family History site , except for those marked SW, which fall under the supervision of Silverman & Weiss. About 85% of the area is managed by the Waldheim company; the other 15% by the Silverman and Weiss company, which is in the far northwest section nearest the river.
